WELCOME TO MY BLOG

My Photo
I find it hard to believe that seven years have passed since I made the decision to pursue my dream of becoming a photographer. Even though it has been challenging, I have thoroughly enjoyed every minute. I have had some amazing clients to photograph, and have made some lifelong friends. When the photos session is over, I can't wait to get home and upload the photos to see what I was able to capture. I love the finished product. A few years ago, I began blogging but have fallen behind in this area. I promise I will try to dedicate more time to my blog, so others can get to know the wonderful clients I am photographing. Many of them have interesting stories to tell. I also think it is interesting to see how couples met, and of their plans for the future. I am available most days to photograph you and your loved ones. Message or call for an appointment. View more on my website at http://brendakingphotography.com.

2011 In Review

2011 was an amazing year for Brenda King Photography.  I was blessed to meet some of the most wonderful clients, and spend time getting to know them.  As I look back over my 2011 appointment book, so many memories come to mind.  My New Year started off great, as I had a wedding to photograph on New Years Day. Even though January was a cold month, I had engagement sessions with several couples. In February , I had a maternity session, and several individual sessions. I also took some time to update my website, and do a few personal things. Weddings were a huge part of my year, and I was blessed to hire a new intern in March, Leslie Ritchie Taylor. She has been such a great asset to me as a second shooter at weddings. She is certainly one tough lady. She was my right arm throughout the year, all while expecting her second child.  I had to follow her around to make sure she didn't put herself in places she could fall and get hurt. She helped me with all of my upcoming weddings, even one on Sept 3, then delivered a beautiful baby girl on Sept 18.  March consisted of several engagement sessions, bridal sessions, and two weddings. March 17 was a very special day for me, when I was honored to take photos of Cooper Whiteside's birth day at Presbyterian Hospital in Charlotte. April brought more bridals, family and senior sessions, and a beautiful wedding Easter weekend. In May, I had prom photos, and the couples were absolutely beautiful !  I also photographed another beautiful wedding at the Waldensian Vineyard in Valdese. June consisted of graduation parties, two weddings, and numerous engagement sessions. In July, I had a bridal session, but spent most of my time behind the computer trying to catch up on all the edits from prior sessions and weddings.  Early August, my husband and I celebrated our 30th wedding anniversary by taking a week long trip to North Myrtle Beach. It was great to get away and relax a while. When I returned, I had three weddings to photograph in August and September. October consisted of other sessions, as well as more editing time. I was able to get away for a long weekend with family in early November to Pigeon Forge, Tenn.  I only accepted a select number of sessions in December, due to time spent working at our Christmas tree lot, decorating our home, Christmas shopping, and editing in between.  God has truly blessed me in 2011, and I am honored to have been given the opportunity to capture special memories for many of you !!!  Following are some of my favorite photos from 2011 ! More are located on my website under Portfolio Section !
